My Teaching Philosophy

I believe every student can succeed in math and science with the right kind of support — support that meets them where they are, keeps them engaged, and treats learning as something you do, not something that's done to you. Here's how I approach every student I work with.

Short, Focused Lessons

I keep sessions short and focused — no longer than 30 minutes. Kids learn best in focused bursts, not long, draining stretches. A shorter session keeps a student engaged and absorbing the whole way through, instead of tuning out halfway. They leave feeling capable and confident, not worn out.

Constant, Active Practice

In every session, the student is actively working through problems, not just watching me explain. That steady, hands-on practice is how skills truly take root and confidence grows. Each session builds on the last, so improvement is consistent and easy to see.

Practice Problems Built for Your Student

No two students are stuck in exactly the same place, so I don't hand out one-size-fits-all worksheets. I design practice problems around each student's specific needs — the exact concepts they're struggling with and the material they're covering in class right now. No wasted time on what they've already mastered, just focused work on what will actually move the needle.

A real partnership with parents and teachers

I stay in close communication with parents and, whenever possible, the student's teacher, so the help I provide lines up with what's happening in the classroom. Parents always know how their student is progressing, and teachers know they have a partner reinforcing their work. When everyone is on the same team, the student is the one who wins.
